The Temple Jazz Orchestra, featuring acclaimed musicians from throughout Central Texas, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center on the Temple College campus.
Led by director and pianist Dr. Benjamin Irom, the concert will feature pieces representing the various types of composition and orchestration inherent in much of today’s large ensemble jazz.
The program features music spanning from the classic Count Basie Orchestra, to more modern sounds of Dave Pietro and Bob Mintzer. The concert will feature a premiere of a new composition by Temple Jazz Orchestra member Lee “Sparky” Thomason.
Admission is $10 for adults, free for students with school IDs. Tickets are available at CentralTexasTickets.com or at the door.
