Temple College has announced plans to give $300 emergency aid grants to students who enroll in 12 or more credit hours during spring 2021.
Funding for the grants is coming from money the college received from the federal government as part of the CARES Act. The grants can be used to cover pandemic-related expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, healthcare and childcare.
To receive the grants, students must register for 12 or more credit hours by Dec. 15, 2020 and be eligible to participate in the Federal student financial aid programs under Section 484 of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
The first grant distributions will be made Feb. 5, 2021 for students enrolled in 1st 8-week or 16-week courses. Students enrolled only in 2nd 8-week courses will receive their grants on March 31, 2021.
Brandon Bozon, vice president for administrative services, said eligible students will receive their grants via direct deposit if they have bank information on file with the business office. Otherwise, payments will be made via check.
